It doesn’t matter if you are in Paraguay or in the States; May is a special time set aside to honor your mother! Most years, the men of our church in Paraguay spend time earning extra money to purchase food items for a ‘gran asado’ (big BBQ). This is a time that they honor all of the mothers that attend the church. (The church attendance is always larger on this day!) With much joy and pride, the men set the mothers around tables and serve them with the food that they have been preparing during the morning service. First the mothers and small children are served, then the older children and lastly the men. They even do the dishes afterwards!!!
